MISSION: Syracuse Biolabs focuses on commercial development of early stage biochemical based technologies, including but not limited to, diagnostics, biosensing, therapeutics, medical technology and assay development.
OVERVIEW: Syracuse Biolabs is a for-profit S corporation focused on meeting its corporate mission by partnering with academic and start-up laboratories and leveraging federal funding mechanisms to drive novel biotechnologies from early stage funding through commercialization. Syracuse Biolabs founder, Dr. Mark McPike, has 15+ years preparing SBIR-STTR applications and leading funded Phase I and II SBIR-STTR projects as Principal Investigator (PI) and Co-PI. Dr. McPike has led projects from NIH, AFRL, HSARPA, and DOD.
While Syracuse Biolabs pursues internal project, we do provide the following benefits for external research partners interested in developing biochem tech:
Being a Central New York company, we work closely with the CNY Biotech accelerator to secure lab space for pending research projects. The CNY Biotech Accelerator, is a flexible research facility committed to fostering start-up biotechnology firms and their technologies. Syracuse Biolabs staff has the scientific track record, administrative infrastructure, and access to a state-of-the-art research facility to accommodate a broad range of biochem projects.
While Syracuse Biolabs pursues internal project, we do provide the following benefits for external research partners interested in developing biochem tech:
- An avenue for ambitious academic researchers and start-up laboratories to streamline the SBIR-STTR application process.
- Access to independent laboratory space dedicated to technology commercialization (a critical requirement for the SBIR-STTR funding mechanism).
